Guide

Add it to your project

  1. Provide the template context specified by the field integration, including label/id/name.
  2. Keep the native text input as the submission floor; initialise the host Alpine integration once.

Options

Public API

Option Type Default Required Description
label string Not set Yes Visible and accessible field label. Constraint: Use concise visible text that identifies the control or measurement.
id string Not set Yes Field id. Constraint: Use a stable id-safe token of letters, digits, hyphens, or underscores; it must be unique on the page.
name string Not set Yes Submitted field name. Constraint: Use the server-side field name expected by the receiving form or query parser.
value string Not set No Comma-separated starting values. Constraint: Use the same type and scale expected by the receiving form or measurement.
placeholder string Not set No Input placeholder. Constraint: No additional package-level validation is documented beyond this option's stated type and its role in the component.
help_text string Not set No Supporting help text. Constraint: Keep it supplemental and do not repeat the label.
errors iterable of strings Not set No Validation messages. Constraint: Pass bound form errors from the invalid request response; do not invent client-only error text.
multiline boolean False No Uses textarea floor. Constraint: No additional package-level validation is documented beyond this option's stated type and its role in the component.

Behaviour

Accessibility and responsive behaviour

Accessibility
Chip remove buttons have names containing the tag text; the labelled native field remains the accessible input.
Responsive
No breakpoint-specific behaviour.
Without JavaScript
A real labelled text field submits comma-separated values.

Troubleshooting

Contract check: help_text, errors (iterable of strings), multiline (bool, default False:

Return the invalid bound response with `errors` and the submitted value; the component has an explicit invalid state.
